Recipe Instructions of Murmura Laddu Recipe:
Preparation:
- Take two cups Murmura (Puffed rice) and add them to a fresh pan.
- Dry roast the Murmura on low flame setting.
- You will notice the soft Murmura turning crisp and strong.
- When this happens, turn off the flame and keep the Murmura aside.
- Take a fresh pan and add 1 tablespoon of ghee to it.
- Add ½ a cup jaggery to the pan.
- Stir continuously so as to flatten out the jaggery.
- Let the jaggery melt uniformly.
- Continue stirring the melted jaggery on low flame.
- To check if the consistency of jaggery is appropriate for the laddus, take some water and drop some of this sugar syrup in it.
- Try forming a round ball with the water dipped syrup.
- If your jaggery forms a round ball with ease, it has perfect consistency and is ready to be rolled into tasty ladddus.
- To your pan of melted jaggery, add the roasted Murmuras gently.
- Mix the Murmura with the jaggery. In the process, do not mash any murmura.
- Mix till the murmuras are coated completely with jaggery.
- Let them rest. When the murmuras have cooled to a temperature that is a bit higher than the room temperature, start making the laddus.
- To give this coated murmura a laddu like shape, pick up a fistful and give them a ball sized shape.
- Keep rolling till they get a perfect laddu shape.
