When anyone says cookie, our mouth automatically gets filled with water. There are a variety of cookies. But talking about butter cookies we get. Butter cookies have the rich buttery flavour, crispy and crunchy tender texture and the sweetness nobody can say no to. They are light, crumbly and melt in your mouth. Butter cookies are perfect evening tea time snacks. Also, you can store them in an airtight container for longer use. But it’s very difficult to resist yourself after trying one.
Though the culture of baking cookies has not been practised in India. People mostly buy them from the market. But in the lockdown, people have shown a great interest in cooking and baking. Butter cookies are easy to make and do not require any fancy ingredients. They are basic cookies with no flavouring but you can add vanilla flavour to enhance the taste.
Cookie culture is prevalent in western countries. They bake cookies on every occasion whether it’s Christmas or Easter, good Friday or anyone’s birthday. Not only this, cookies are the best presents if you are confused about what to give your loved ones or office colleagues. Butter cookies are from Denmark and consist of sugar, butter and flour. They are called βcrisp cookiesβ because of their texture. It has a buttery rich taste and vanilla makes it flavourful. These cookies are crispy from the outside and have a melt-in-mouth texture from the inside. These are made from piping techniques that give them a swirly and beautiful look.
If you like quick and easy baking, then this recipe is for you. It just takes 20 minutes to make these cookies. There are no fancy ingredients required and you may find all of them in your kitchen. So, if you have any guests coming over or you are just in a mood to munch anything, try this recipe.

- Take 1/4 cup butter in a medium sized bowl
- Put 1/4 cup of sugar in it
- Add a pinch of salt to taste
- Put a few drops of vanilla flavour in it.
- Add 1 egg yolk.
- Add 1 tsp of corn-starch.
- Mix well with a whisker.
- Add 1 tbsp. heavy cream.
- Again mix it nicely with a whisker.
- Now it is turned into a fine creamy texture.
- Add 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour or Maida in it.
- Again mix well using a spatula.
- Take a piping tip for piping cookies.
- Attach it to the piping bag.
- Put the bag inside a glass to avoid spilling the dough.
- Transfer the cookie dough to the piping bag.
- Take out the bag from the glass and roll it to form a log while sealing the other end.
- Take an oven plate.
- Apply butter all over the plate.
- Start piping the cookies.
- Gently squeeze the bag to form swirls.
- Fill all the space in the plate.
- Put the plate in the oven.
- Bake on a micro- convection setting for 15 minutes.
- Take out the plate carefully after 15 minutes.
- Your crispy, crunchy sweet cookies are ready.
- Serve them with tea.
