Spicy Green Chilli Chutney

A bold and fiery green chilli chutney recipe made with fresh green chilies, garlic, and tamarind. This street-style condiment adds a spicy kick to idli, dosa, chapati, rice, pakoras, and evening snacks.


🛒 Ingredients

  • Green Chilies – 10–12 (medium spicy, adjust to taste)

  • Garlic – 4–5 cloves

  • Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp

  • Tamarind – small piece (or 1 tsp paste)

  • Salt – to taste

  • Oil – 1 tbsp (sesame oil or any cooking oil)


🔪 Preparation Method

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add green chilies and sauté for 2–3 minutes until slightly blistered.

  2. Add garlic and cumin seeds, sauté for 1 minute.

  3. Let it cool slightly, then blend with tamarind and salt into a coarse paste.

  4. Add 1–2 tbsp water while grinding if needed for smoother texture.

  • Pair with idli, dosa, chapati, rice, pakoras, bajjis, or bondas.

  • Works great as a spicy dip for snacks or spread in wraps & sandwiches.
