Directions
Mirchi bajji or mirapakaya bajji is a south Indian snack. It is basically stuffed green chilies deep fried with a besan coating over them. Mirchi bajji is a spicy and savouring snack recipe normally made in Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh. It gives a heavenly taste as an evening snack served hot with tea or coffee especially in monsoon and winter. Normally eaten without any sides, it goes well with green and tamarind chutney.
Mirchi bajji is a great combination of crispy, spicy and soft as the same time. Puviya’s recipes here will help you prepare the bajjis very fast and tasty.

- 1 onion
2 tsp coriander leaves
As required salt
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp chat masala
2 tsp tamarind juice
7 green chilies
1 cup besan flour
¼ tsp baking soda
1 tbsp. oil
As required water
2 tsp sooji(rava)
As required oil for frying

Recipe Instructions of Mirchi Bajji Evening Snacks:
Preparation:
- Take 1 finely chopped onion in a big bowl.
- Add 2 teaspoon of coriander leaves in the bowl.
- Next, add ½ teaspoon salt in the bowl.
- Now, add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder in the bowl.
- Add 1 teaspoon of coriander powder to the mixture in the bowl.
- Now add 1 teaspoon of chaat masala in the bowl.
- Add 2 tablespoons of tamarind juice in the bowl.
- Mix the ingredients well in the bowl.
- Now, take the green chillies in a plate.
- Slit the green chilies from the center with a knife.
- Remove the seed inside the chilies.
- Add the onion stuffing in the chilies with the help of a spoon.
- Add stuffing to all the chilies one by one and place them in the plate.
- Take 1 cup of besan flour in a strainer and a bowl.
- Sieve the besan in the bowl.
- Now add ½ teaspoon of salt in the bowl.
- Add ¼ teaspoon of baking soda in the bowl.
- Next, add 1 tablespoon of oil in the bowl.
- Add 2 tablespoons of rava or sooji in the bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients well with a beater.
- Add water in small amounts to the mixture.
- Mix the mixture well with the beater.
- Whisk a smooth batter of besan and water. Don’t spill the batter.
- Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
- Dip the stuffed chilies in the batter one by one.
- Take a pan and pour some oil in it to fry the bhajis. Now put the bhajis in the pan. Make sure the oil is hot and nice. Deep fry the bhajis on medium flame.
- Stir the bhajis occasionally slowly.
- Flip and turn the bhajis, make sure the bhajis are fried on all sides.
- Fry the bhajis till they are golden brown.
- Take out the bhajis with the help of a strainer.
- You could always use some tissues to soak up the extra oil.
Your crispy and tempting Mirchi bhajis are ready to serve!
